JOURNAL EXPLANATION

HEADER EXPLANATION
After some internal debate on how to set up my header for stories, particulaly since I would prefer to avoid using the word "warnings" for its negative connotations - when we "warn," we imply the behaviors portrayed are unacceptable and wrong - I have settled on the following method:

DISCLAIMER:
RATING:
GENRE:
CHARACTERS:
PAIRINGS:
POTENTIAL SPOILERS:
POTENTIAL TRIGGERS:
KINK INCLUSION:
FREETALK:
SUMMARY:

Stories that do not need certain categories will not have them listed (for example, a story that does not explore any kink will not have the "Kink Inclusion" category in the header and a story with no spoilers will not have the "Potential Spoilers" category).

Please note that I will never "warn" for slash or femslash. I find the practice of "warning" for slash/femslash exceptionally discriminatory; the sexuality of the pairings should be fairly obvious from the pairings listed. If you cannot figure it out from which characters are listed as paired together, then I daresay you don't really know the fandom the fic is for in the first place.

TAGS EXPLANATION
I have set up my tags for this community in what I felt was the most intuitive and organized manner. Yes, the tags are all rather lengthy because they are all three-tiered; this enables me to organize first by fandom, then by character, pairing, or title within that fandom. That, in turn, allows you to search through the tags that are most relevant to your interests (for example, if you want to read anything that features Hitachiin Hikaru, you would scroll to the Ouran section of my tags, then look for his name under the Character subheading).

This system also allows me to tag by the included content type; I have an entire section for content triggers so readers can determine which stories to pass over based on tags and I also have an entire tag section dedicated to kink so that you can quickly and easily find fics that include a specific kink you happen to like.

On the entires themselves, the tags are all going to look extremely long, of course (for example, "category: fandom: ouran koukou host club," "content: kink: dirty talk," "content: triggers: self-harm," "ouran: character: hitachiin hikaru," or "ouran: title: in place of modesty"), but I do hope that you'll find the method useful when browsing.
